A website can look fine and still be invisible. Pages blocked by a stray setting, slow mobile load times, duplicate URLs and broken redirects quietly cap how well everything else can rank. Most owners never see these problems, because visitors don’t either.

Technical SEO is the work of finding and fixing them. It’s rarely glamorous, but it’s often the fastest way to free up rankings that good content should already be earning.

What technical SEO covers

We start with how search engines see your site, then fix whatever gets in the way:

  • Crawling. Can search engines reach every important page? We check robots rules, internal links and XML sitemaps.
  • Indexing. Are the right pages in Google’s index, and the wrong ones out? Thin, duplicate and filtered pages often crowd out the ones that sell.
  • Speed and stability. How quickly key pages load and settle on a phone, measured against Google’s Core Web Vitals.
  • Structure. Clear URLs, sensible internal linking and structured data that helps search engines understand your business.

Google explains the speed measures it uses in its Core Web Vitals documentation. We test against them before and after every change.

Common problems we find

Old redirects that chain through three URLs before landing. Staging sites accidentally left indexable. Service pages that load in five seconds on a phone because of oversized images or a page builder’s extra scripts.

Duplicate pages are common too: the same service reachable at several addresses, or location pages with nothing but the town name changed. Search engines split their attention between them, and none of them ranks well.

What a technical fix looks like in practice

Here’s a typical example. A contractor moves to a new website, and the old service pages, which had ranked for years, now return “page not found”. The links other sites pointed at them go nowhere, and rankings slide over the following weeks.

The fix is a redirect map: every old URL pointed at its closest new equivalent, tested one by one. It takes a few hours, and it usually brings most of the lost visibility back as search engines recrawl.

Speed problems are similar. A single oversized hero image or an unused slider script can add seconds to every page load on a phone. Removing it costs nothing and helps every page at once.

Technical SEO services, step by step

Month one is diagnosis: a full crawl, a Search Console review and speed tests on the pages that matter most. We rank every issue by how much it’s likely to hold back rankings and calls.

The fixes follow in that order. Most are invisible to visitors, and their effect shows up in Search Console within weeks as more pages indexed, fewer errors and faster load times.

After that, we check monthly for new problems. Plugins update, content gets added and old issues creep back in.

Technical SEO: Texas businesses on every kind of platform

Texas businesses run sites on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and custom builds, each with its own common problems. WordPress sites tend to collect plugins, Shopify stores create duplicate collection URLs, and builders limit what can be changed.

We work within each platform’s limits and tell you plainly when a limit is costing you rankings. Sometimes the right advice is a small workaround, and sometimes it’s a move to a better platform.

Choosing a technical SEO company

A good technical SEO company explains every fix in plain English and shows you how to check it. Be wary of reports listing hundreds of “errors” without saying which ones matter.

Ask how they’ll prioritize, how they’ll avoid breaking anything, and whether they’ll document changes so your developer can follow them.

Cost, timing and results

What does technical SEO cost?

It depends on the size and state of the site. Technical SEO starts at $100 a month on its own, or comes in the full plan from $399 a month.

How long until fixes show results?

Many fixes show in Search Console within a few weeks. Rankings respond over one to three months as search engines recrawl the site.

Will technical fixes bring in more leads?

Often indirectly. They let your good pages rank where they should, and we track calls and forms by page so you can see the change. It’s one reason we hold a 4.8-star rating from 148 Google reviews.

What you’ll see each month

Each month’s report lists the fixes made, the pages affected and how to check them. It also shows indexing, speed and error trends from Search Console, so you can see the site getting healthier over time.

Rankings and leads sit at the top of the report. Technical health matters because of what it lets your pages do, not as an end in itself.

Frequently asked questions about technical SEO

Do small business websites need technical SEO?

Usually some. Even small sites pick up redirect problems, slow pages and indexing mistakes, and fixing them is often the cheapest ranking gain available.

Will technical changes break my website?

Not if they’re tested first. We make changes on a staging copy where possible and keep a log of every edit.

What is Google Search Console?

A free Google tool that shows how your site appears in search, which pages are indexed and which have errors. Every site should have it set up.

How fast should my website be?

Fast enough to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals on mobile. For most service pages, that means the main content appears within a couple of seconds on a phone.
